New school plans cause concern

CONCERNS over plans for two new high schools in Bishopbriggs have been raised with the council.

More here Bishopbriggs Herald

Let's hope someone listens

See attached comment...

With the casting vote at the meeting the Liberal Democrats could pass any decision.

Meanwhile we have the pupils from a Kirkintilloch school being educated at Thomas Muir while Bishopbriggs pupils are being educated in 'huts' for up to two years!

You will have to download the pdf documents

"There followed full and detailed discussion, during the course of which various Members and Lay Members expressed their views." This was taken from the minutes of the meeting held to decide where the Academy should be built (along with the rest of the PPP deal).
I find it shocking that this is all that has been recorded in the minutes about this controversial decision. Where is the transparency required for the residents of East Dunbartonshire to feel that their views are being listened too, if the views put forward (for and against) are not even recorded. What has the council got to hide. Was the decision so biased that putting the arguments down in black and white would reveal the 'educational benefits' for what they were...a charade to foist a cheaper option onto the people of Bishopbriggs and open up the prime real estate of the High School site for inspirED.
And while I'm on the subject, why is the land that has been declared as surplus at Turnbull and Thomas Muir being passed on to inspirED...would it not make more money being sold on the open market....and get the greatest benefit for the people who actually own the land...the Council Tax payers of Bishopbriggs.
